Job Description:

Task Force Contractors is seeking an experienced  Estimator with expertise in interior construction and government contracting to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating projects involving drywall, flooring, painting, cabinetry, millwork, and framing for both commercial and government clients. This role is critical in ensuring accurate cost projections, competitive bids, and successful project execution, particularly in compliance-driven government projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for interior construction projects, including materials, labor, subcontractor costs, and compliance-related expenses
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and blueprints to develop accurate takeoffs
  • Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing and ensure competitive bids
  • Identify project risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors, particularly those with government contracting experience
  • Ensure estimates comply with federal, state, and local government contracting requirements (e.g., Davis-Bacon Act, prevailing wage laws, and FAR regulations)
  • Prepare bid proposals, change orders, and cost breakdowns as needed
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, material costs, labor rates, and government contract bidding practices


Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on interior build-outs and government contracting
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of drywall, flooring, painting, cabinetry, millwork, and framing, as well as government bid processes and compliance
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Procore, RSMeans, or similar tools)
  • Government Contracting: Experience with GSA contracts, IDIQ, MATOCS, JOC, SABER, and other government procurement methods
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, contracts, specifications, and government RFPs
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with government agencies, general contractors, and internal teams
  • Education: Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required
